I don't know a lot about Marxist economics, but think this quote, by Sony Computer Entertainment s CEO, Ken Kutaragi, should encourage us all to revolt and give Kutaragi a taste of the Great Leap Forward:
Speaking to Japanese economic website Toyo Keizai, he stated that Sony s aim for PS3 is for consumers to think to themselves 'I will work more hours to buy one'. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else."
Translation: the PS3 will be expensive, but through your hard work—or by indenturing yourself to SCE's future silicon mines on the Planet Targzon—you will own one. It's not that you might like one. You will own one.
