What is with these overseas cameraphone companies making large megapixel cameraphones? More importantly, what is with the U.S. not getting in on the action?

Xcute has a new cameraphone out called the DV2, and a 6 megapixel camera is but one of its many features. Other crazy-awesome features include video recording at 30 frames per second, multimedia player, voice recorder, MP3 player, TFT LCD with 16.7 million colors, a 65k color sub-LCD (!!), 20MB internal memory, and a mini-SD card slot. It's available in Taiwan right now, with an included 512 mini-SD card in the package. Comes in white or black housing, and retailing for $495 each.

It's tri-band, so you'd think us over in the states would get some of that megapixel lovin', but I wouldn't hold my breath.
