    Dell Opens Up

Well, Dell, who woulda' thunk we'd get an open-source computer from you so soon? Sounds crazy, but it's true. Mundane, PCs-of-the-people Dell have introduced its Dimension E510n PC that comes with a blank hard drive and copy of FreeDOS OS, which you'll have to install yourself. Gor $849, you get a Pentium 4 processor, 512MB of advanced DDR computer memory, 128MB ATI Radeon video card, 80GB hard drive and, drumroll please, a one-year limited warranty. Probably aimed at small businesses, this computer lets companies that have pre-purchased Windows through licensing programs to not have to worry about erasing the software on factory-shipped PCs to install their own OS. This saves them a step. Nicely done Mike.
