DAP Delights for October 4

Today's DAP Headlines:

The cat is on the prowl in the form of iKitty, a "case" from SpeckProducts. Cowon's long-awaited 60 GB iAudio X5 has finally reared its head, on Ebay of all places. The first 4GB competitor to the iPod nano is here (from Sandisk), and hey, while you're at Walmart buying tampons and aspirin, why not pick up an Mp3 player?.

We thought we'd seen it all with the Gumby-like iGuy cases, but the newest addition to the family trumps them in terms of strangeness: iKitty. Alas, if there's one thing you can beat the iPod nano at, it's price. That's what Sandisk is aiming for with the second 4 GB flash player to market, their brand new Sansa m200. No color screen or fancy click wheel here, but an FM radio, voice recorder, and WMA subscription support will get many people's attention. Oh yeah, it's also only $199, $50 less than Apple's 4 GB nano. The battle has begun!

Finally, for those who remain DAP-less simply because of price, you shall be DAP-less no more! Head down to your local Walmart, and ol' Sam will hook you up with a Siren Mp3 player for a ridiculously low $68. 512 MB, FM radio, Voice/Radio recording, SD slot, the spec list goes on forever. Well, actually not, but still, a dang good deal.
