Though it's still not an overly popular design, I'm a sucker for a tablet PC. And looks like Acer has decided to release one of the these beauties in the entry level space. The Travelmate C200 series features an Intel Pentium M processor and Mobile Intel 915PM/GM Express chipset, and more importantly, a one-of-a-kind sliding mechanism that converts it from laptop to tablet in nary an instant. Other nice features are a 12.1 LCD, ATA/100 hard disk drive up to 100GB, and dual-channel system memory support (DDR2 533MHz) that's scalable to 2GB. All of the C200 models come with a slot-loading DVD dual-layer burner or DVD/CD-RW, a 4-in-1 card reader that supports Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick, and Memory Stick PRO standards and a biometric fingerprint security solution for data and hardware security. And of course, expect Bluetooth, wireless chipset and FireWire. Starts at $1399.
