Small Dog Electronics has come out with the Hippod iPod case, a damn ugly pouch you wear on your hip. It's a basic case designed to keep your iPod protected from drops and the elements, so nothing new there. But it does come with an external speaker for broadcasting your Best of Dire Straits album to the world. Just plug it into the iPod's headphones jack and you're good to go. No batteries required, which is nice, but don't expect some kind of portable sound system here. It's available now for $25.00, sense of fashion not included.

UPDATE: Damn those battery companies! Reader Katherine informs us that it's a great case and all, but it does require two AAA batteries to power the speaker.
