Pricey Xantech XTR39 Remote Better Be Good for $1000

xantech.jpgXantech s XTR39 infrared remote, introduced at this year's CES, has a 3.9-inch LCD touch screen customizable to your personal taste. Our first impression is that it looks like the company borrowed a bit from the iPod with its touchwheel control.

Although there are a group of dedicated buttons at the bottom for the most often-accessed controls, we've never been big fan of touch screens for remotes since you have to look at them to use them. The shocker for this product is its price—it's really $1000, but the company tries to make it look cheaper by calling it $999.
