Here's a first from Samsung: a cellphone with an optical joystick. Slide your finger on it and the cursor moves anywhere you want on the screen, instead of just in four directions like most directional controls on cellphones. Then you can click on the icons on the screen, just like when you're using a laptop touchpad.
The V960 also includes a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and GPS capabilities, plus it has a light sensor that adjusts screen brightness according to ambient lighting conditions. Nice way to preserve battery power. It'll be available in Korea later this month, and even if this one doesn't find its way to US shores, its optical joystick is a concept that should be ubiquitous before too long.
