    Samsung's 81-Series LCDs Have 500,000:1 Contrast Ratio

    500,000:1 contrast ratio! That's beyond what Toshiba was promising from SED (which won't be at CES this year, as you know). It's achieved using an LED backlight that can has controlled dimming. The 1080p LCD HDTVs come in four sizes (40,46,52, and 57-inch). It's also got Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and 3 HDMI ports. Available in July 2007, no price announced.
