Commercial contests aren't a new idea, especially for those who watched the Superbowl this year. However, Battlestar Galactica is throwing a contest that sounds fun. Instead of leaving fans to do everything on their own, SciFi has released video clips and sound effects for the public to use and recut to their liking. (Though, the entrants who make especially graphic entries in ode to Number 6 may be disqualified).

The catch? It doesn't look like you win anything, other than the commercial playing on national television. But to the uberfan, or anyone who hates DRM attitudes, this sounds like a pretty neat contest. – Mark Wilson
