We've shown you some of Branko Lukic's "Nonobjects" before, including the touchless cellphone and those unique pebbles of electronic awesomeness. The latest concept from this man's fertile mind is the Behind The Scenes camera, with lenses and displays on both sides for simultaneously recording what you're aiming at, and what you're not. Why? The stuff you shoot is what you remember, what you control, what you expect. What turns up within the other lens is unknown, unexpected, outside of your control. I dig the idea, and the video's peaceful soundtrack, but I don't get how the photographer isn't in the back shot. Wouldn't it be cool to be in some of those pics, as a reward for taking shots of everyone else? [Nonobject] Thanks, Branko!

I have a feeling the backwards looking camera is going to get plenty of pics of my ugly face with the expression like I've just said "cheese"
At least Lomography in digital??? I'll take one! Now, bring more lenses...
im not sure thats a great idea, because you would probably will get a picture of your face or chest depending on where you are holding the camera. Why not put another lense on the side or something, or how about ill just take pictures of stuff i wanna see, and not random background people in restaurants and parks
dodecamerahedron!
Filling up a 2GB memory card has never been faster or fun!
Just throw it in the air!
(click!)
or more fun.
Dammit!
Blew the line.
Looks cool, but where can I find a camera or camcorder that won't catch my reflection. I know I can use photo editing stuff, but I'm not handy with that stuff.
Is that too next gen?
Lots of pictures of some one's palms. Think about it. Hold an object that's close to that thing's size and shape like you would a camera. Your hand will be covering the behind the scenes lens. Kind of a cool idea, just not real practical.
Well maybe if you treat photography as art, then the picture will be unique for the composer.
I like the concept. I can see it turn into quite an interesting photography project. But one has to think how exactly should this camera be held? Chances are one of the lenses will be blocked if you try to hold the camera steady...
im confused.
@Twenty5:
im confused too.
Y'know, it just seems right. Maybe it's because I'm drinking wild turkey and the music seems to usher me into this crazy idea, but I like it.
should have stuck two lenses on the sides and made a 360 degree shot. Don't know of any pocket camera that can handle that one yet.
As I take another look at this, all I can picture is a bunch of kid pictures with old priest pictures on the flipside... friggin creepy. Gotta pass on it.
If you ask me, the only way this is useful is if you have the option of separating the two halves entirely. That way you could hand the other half to a friend allowing you both to take pictures of a birthday party/family gathering/or late night drunkfest.
Having them permanently attached the way the video shows it makes it a one trick pony - and not a very useful one at that.
putting it on a tripod and getting the hell out of the way might just do the trick...
