With the LCD window thermometer from La Crosse, long gone are your days as the victim of weather-fashion faux pas. The unit mounts to a window and displays the current temperature, as well as the high and low. This gadget seems useful for the weather obsessed, or people who have no idea how to dress themselves. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer the tried-and-true combination of looking out my window and remembering what month it is. If you still regret the time you wore a ski mask in July, it can be yours for 15 bucks. [ThinkGeek via DVICE]

"spoiler alert" cute.
I got this as a present a year ago, it's nice to know the overnight low to see if it's froze. Makes you a little weather obsessed however.
Well, living in the frigid north, AND riding my bike to work, I like to check the temp before stepping outside so I know how many seconds it will be before my nuts retrea . . . err, I mean so I know how many layers to put on.
You obviously don't live in Texas where our morning lows have varied 30 degrees in the last week. 37 vs 67 at 6am is not a bad thing to know when you get dressed!
something tells me it won't work accurately on my double-paned windows.
@case: Something tells me you mount it outside.
And also, it would be bitching if this could display the forecast high and low somehow (wifi, or that ambient thing, or ?). There have been a couple days in the last few weeks where I looked out the window and it was sunny and warm, and then it snowed in the afternoon. I realize this would push the price way over $15.
I wish that outside appearance and time of the year helped in Chicago. It was 60 degrees the other day, I had a hard time keeping the boyfriend from rushing out of the house in a down coat. It's back to the 30's, but it really should be more like the teens. Crazy crap. I would want this device, but we don't have any windows near either of our doors.
I live in Cincinnati, OH and honestly we get some of the most unseasonal weather. Monday it was close to 70 degrees... Tuesday it was 72 degrees... for contrast the 'normal' temperature for this area over the past 100+ years for early January is around 38 degrees.
This little gadget will do nicely in helping me ensure I don't look like a dumbass wearing a heavy coat on a 70 degree day in January...
Well, two days ago it was 65 degrees here. In Michigan. In JANUARY. Given global warming and mad scientists/meteorologists, this looks useful.
