Spotted on the floor of CES by Kotaku, Fenda's "On Play" 2.1 speaker system has speakers that resemble a Wii Nunchuk and a subwoofer that looks like the Wii itself. In addition to having a dock for the Wii to sit on, Kotaku's Michael McWhertor says the speakers sound pretty good and will only cost around $50 when they come out later this year. [Kotaku]

Is that a really smart idea to attach a subwoofer directly to a game console?
Looks as if they spared no expense in terms of brand-name badging at their booth.
This would have been so awesome when I was younger, with just TV speakers for sound. They should have left the "analog stick" off of the nunchuu-shaped speakers, but the wide-Wii sub is impeccably styled. It's a perfect match with the Wii itself, and the wide stand looks great too.
Cute! Kinda ... want them. Not that much, though.
is there a tweeter in the top of the analog stick? that would be fancy. especially if you could aim it.
@irfan: the system is kinda cool.
Your idea would make it awesome.
I don't think it's a good idea to put an optical drive that close to something that vibrates a lot, like a subwoofer.
it's funny that you say that, but I have a slightly shielded 12 inch sub worth 400+ watts.....with a perfectly functioning xbox 360 above it. and it slaps hard, So I would assume even the slightest shielding or a small distance would mitigate much, especially since that sub is drastically smaller
ARGH... PANTS... GETTING... TOO... HEAVY... MUST... PANTS... SPEAKERS... MUST... GO... UNLOAD... AT... TRUCK... *pants*

I love the hand written CES booth notes. Have companies really gotten this lazy? I guess you either have a bitching power point and printed materials or a working product and something that an 8th grade class can throw together to market it. How many companies presented products in this fashion at CES? Looking back at previous posts here and on other blogs, its certainly more than a handful...
