I know I'm a geek because I'm almost as giddy for this as I am for MacWorld: The rules and bidders (214 of 'em) for 700Mhz spectrum auction, which starts on Jan. 24, have been finalized. No surprises here—the heavies like AT&T, Verizon and Google have their shit in order and the C block fireworks look good to go. [Ars]

I wonder what Google'd do if they actually got that auction.
Well don't you know Google will just take over the world. Starts with Web apps and cellphones. Ends with Armies and a big flag with a G on it.
"REILAOS, PUTTING THE 'FUN' IN DYSFUNCTION!
I wonder what Google'd do if they actually got that auction."
Simple...make the world a better place.
What Macworld? Today was Macworld?!?!! :P
I share your gid Matt.
So wait, do they get the cow too?
I, for one, welcome our new rulers from Google....
It'd be interesting if Google won it, but I'd hate to see them have to create an infrastructure from scratch. I think VZW's likely to put in a lot of work in this stuff, which is cool for me so long as they stick to their word on the "Any Device, Any App" initiative.
If they don't, fuck 'em. Let my mom win it for all I care.
