Perhaps Nintendo has a point when it refused Lucas Arts' permission to develop a bat-like lightsaber attachment for the Wiimote. After all, when you place the controller inside stuff like the 10 insane Wii weapons or a sword and a shield or a billiard cue or a boxing glove, it makes it hard to attach the safety strap to your wrist. And when you have no safety strap, you have what we see above.
Why Cheap Wiimote Add-ons May Be a Bad Idea

The best part is the dangling strap.
i like how one of the tags is "stupid kid", my sentiment exactly.
i think i've seen a preview for this. its "there will be blood," right?
after a while it's just like, go the fuck outside and play REAL baseball.
(yes, I do realize that I am about to catch major flak for this one....)
This was amazing.
At least it wasn't the TV screen. This must be a neighbor friend of the kids or something, because if that was me when i was a kid my mom would have exploded and unleashed a sirius beatdown on me. The kid in the video is like "ooops sorry" and the mom is like "it's ok sweetheart". I dont know what fantasy land they live in.
LMAO thats freaking funny! The kid got saved from an ass whooping, good thing it was only the glass lol.
@G_Money: My thoughts exactly. Either mom just had her meds or its a bad staged video.
Fake!
Wasn't the Wii remote going to break the glass if it had no addon on it? Cuz that's no cheap addon; I think it's the Nerf one I gifted to my nephew in Xmas; cost me $35
@G_Money:
Yeah...had that been me (as a child) breaking crap at my own house the vid would have turned NC-17 (for violence and obscene language) pretty quick...
Why don't people understand that you don't need to swing the controller like your are trying to kill someone with it?
Thanks for the mental birth control Giz!
The sound is fake. I assume it's supposed to be a CRT because of the 'glass' sound. Most your new display types are plastic.
Glass CRT doesn't just shatter. It implodes.
The sound ranges from serious explosion "boom!" that could have showered that kid in glass shards or the more likely sucking sound as the vaccume is let out of the CRT.
I don't think you could throw a flimsy piece of plastic into a TV picture tube hard enough to break it.
@lburgguy: @Wayde: I think he hit the glass TV cabinet not the TV.
@Wayde: He breaks the glass door of their TV cabinet, not the screen. Still a stupid kid, though.
All that, and the kid didn't even hit the pitch.
um... well what differnce does the strap make anyway??? don't they break if the wind blows on them???
@blazingti:
Yeah that cracked me up as well. Haha.
@lburgguy: its obvious its a fake
why?
look at the bat when its on the ground, unless the wiimote ALSO flew out of the special casing, then its a fake
My mom wouldn't have cared who's kid it was, they were going to the ER.
Why are there so many people assuming this is fake?
With the number of complete retards out there, I can perfectly believe that multiple groups of them actually did this. After watching "America's stupidest people's videos" for more than five minutes, you can probably imagine that this might have actually been caught on camera.
Even if this was a fake, I completely believe that this exact scenario has already played out in many households around the world.
They didn't do something amazing; some kid threw a bat at a piece of glass. Could have easily happened. He was trying to show off for the camera and ended up looking like a moron. Sounds real to me...
@cubeenigma: Is that a Guitar Hero controller lying on the ground at the end?
Is it possible that they had multiple video game controllers lying on the ground together?
Why is the simplest explanation for a Wii controller lying on the floor that this is a faked video? Why couldn't there have been other Wii controllers? I've got several controllers lying around next to my entertainment center. And yep, one of them is a spare Wii controller.
How did it get there? I guess mine must have fallen out of a bat controller.
It's a conspiracy. It's so obvious his mom/dad want to buy a new TV, they just need a good reason for it.
@fastm3driver: Agreed. You can see that the kid should have no problem wearing the strap, but he neglects to do so and is thus served.
what was the mom really thinking?
"ohhhh fuckkkk" i know i would lol. too bad they don't show the TV. good excuse to get an HDTV. and get rid of the add-ons.
lesson learned?
he broke the glass door of the entertainment cabinet NOT THE TV GLASS.
A gold framed poster of Saturday Night Fever in the background? It's a fake.
A video or it didn't happen!
THAT IS NOT "ALRIGHT."
Not even on the meds this chick must down to accept the reality that she will continue to be a housewife and never acheive any of her own goals or aspirations, is this just... alright.
quit spending your money on add-ons and buy a damn second controller.
--all in Sunny D commercial unison--
We need another controller.
Why does she say, "You'll get used to it." at the beginning and then not know how Wii Sports Baseball is played?
I'm thinking, that's not mom, that's big sis getting her little brother and his friends busted so she can have the Wii all to herself.
And... use the strap, that's what it's there for.
I love how the game says "strike!" right at the end.
@EddieRebel: I know, right? I mean, if it was a velvet painting of Elvis, that'd be another story of course.
Yea, I saw this a month ago...what a little twerp.
If you look closely at the end of the video, you will see that the cabinet GLASS was the one that broke... not the TV screen. The glass shards are on the ground.
BTW this situation happened to me when I first got my Wii playing bowling. I hit my leg by accident upon my throw and the strap snapped and the controller hit the ceiling... no damage to anything...
So I can see why this can happen. But it's funny still.
I could just say..Go buy a real console, like a PS3. But I wont ; )
I don't know how the mom can stay so clam...
Probably demanded that the kid's parents pay for a new TV
its pretty clear that the controller isn't in the bat anymore. Its not fake.
Why would the mom be that mad at the kid? Little kids break stuff, it wasn't on purpose and they weren't doing anything that wasn't allowed by her. You guys must have had mean parents.
I didn't even put the wrist straps on the wiimotes when I first got the thing. I thought only a complete fucking idiot would swing hard enough to let ago. Then the complete fucking idiot across the hall from me sends the wiimote flying across the room and I don't trust any of my friends anymore.
I still prefer the TV commercial where the guy throws the fake console wireless controller into the flat panel, horribly spiders it and then just looks at his buddy like "What you gonna do 'bout it?" Also - this is totally feasible - having some 12 year old kid throw a bat through the glass entertainment center case - my 21 year old sister did the same thing after mocking me for telling her to wear the strap when we were just engaging in a little bit of wii bowling...
and before you ask, no, she wasn't drinking.
"that's all right"??!!??
no it isn't, and the little shit should have to pay to replace what he broke. if not he'll turn into a typical asshat American who blames all their problems on 'outside factors', never having learned we must face the consequences of our actions both good and bad
a blank white box?
Oh its myspace thats why...
What's wrong with the mom staying calm? Isn't that the "mature" thing to do. It wasn't the tv. I know my parents would react the same.
What a tard :)
I agree with What It Is, go play real baseball. DUH
Man, I thought it was the TV, thankfully it was just the glass window on the TV cabinet. It could have been worse, but you can't blame the kid. Shit happens, and some times you can't get mad about it.
In the 70's that kid would not have been able to sit for a week if you know what I mean.
@G_Money... to continue the fantasy, everyone then went to the dining room and had "Stove Top" stuffing, haha!
I was watching that thinking that the bat was gonna clock one of the other kids. Boy was I ever disappointed...
lol :) That made me forget how pissed off I am at Apple
@fastm3driver: At least it's not the TV, it's only the glass on the TV stand. And even if it was, it's CRT, I'm pretty sure those are strong enough, compared to a DLP or LCD or plasma TV, which are way more expensive.
LOLOLOLOL
"Ooops, that's alright"
That's not what daddy will have to say later tonight...
jajajaj lol, did anyone notice that at the end of the video you can hear "strike!!!".... tha's the best part
and Mauro Merchan noticed it.... ;)
