HTC Land Japan is Disneyland For Smartphone Fetishists

htcland.jpgThe Japanese tentacle of HTC's multi-armed octopus-like body is planning on opening an HTC Land in Shibuya; a place where customers can come in and fondle the goods for themselves without buying first.

The studio will be open between February 1 and March 1, which means you only have a limited time to experience the joy of being personally helped by an HTC professional or attending a special "how to make me special" lecture every saturday of the month. It may not be as entertaining as vomiting up a $7 ice cream bar in a gigantic twirling cup, but you'll undoubtedly learn how to sync your phone to your company's Exchange server really, really hard. • Cool, but will this mean that there will be a fix for the 3D acceleration problems for the HTC PDA's? (EX: no drivers. . .)

  • Wow that place sure looks pretty.

I wonder what kind of video drivers they're using? ;)

  • Yea, I should go there with my AT&T tilt and ask for some drivers, see what they say in person. Maybe if we get enough customers, we can all go to this place and convince them (would never work, the emails and complaints don't seem to be working online)

  • If the HTC CEO, Peter Chou, is there, I'd go there just to chuck my Tilt at his head for shafting us on drivers.

  • I'd be happy to pay $50 bucks towards anyone who can get HTC's crappy BlueTooth drivers to work properly. The ones on the mogul that they "fixed" after 5 months of me e-mailing constantly, posting in every newsgroup, the HTC Wiki, the HTC forums still don't compete with the BT in free phones. Distance, sound quality, static - all better on free phones than any HTC phone.

I spoke with some at HTC recently and they even admitted the BT on their phones suck. I won't say the persons name for the sake of their job but they said they also experienced the crappy BT issues described in many forums on their own HTC phone.

What the hell is wrong with HTC?

While I would certainly appreciate better video drivers, the BT is the most important feature of my phone next to e-mail, and voice command. If I had full exchange integration on another phone with touch screen functionality, a slim form factor and a large screen I'd be happy to jump ship.

I can understand if you have issues with the alarm clock, and other issues that the HTC phones have but I don't understand how bluetooth isn't one of the most well tested feature coming from any phone manufacturer.

  • XDA-developers has a bounty out for whoever comes up with good video drivers, I think it is almost like 5,200 bucks or something.

  • I wonder if they'll release any iphone killers lolx
I think this will be a hit even tho HTC only has approximately 10 models.
They'd probably be releasing the next gen phone out of the MDA series.

  • Blah blah blah drivers!

  • Im sure they're suggest for all to sign up with MODACO and see if you can get whatever drivers you need from them or throught their forums.
