Sony has just released its first Bluetooth (A2DP) enabled PMPs; the NW-A829 (16GB) and NW-A828 (8GB). With support for MP3, WMA, ATRAC, Sony PCM and AAC/High Efficiency AAC, as well as MPEG-4/H.264, these players come with enough playback potential to make them contenders for a space in your pocket, as well as your heart. More info beneath the gallery.
The 2.4-inch (320 x 240) LCD display may be on the small side for serious video viewing, but the PMPs are sliver thin at 9.3mm wide and weighing in it at only 59g, the screen size is easily excusable. Add to the mix a 36-hour battery life for tunes, or a 10-hour life span for video viewing, and it seems like the new Network Walkmans have quite a bit to shout about. No word on pricing or shipping dates as yet, but we can't wait to give them a go. [Akihabara]

Do they also have built in noise cancelling?
yes they do.

Ah finally i get rewarded for keeping my faith in Sony.
Make place Ipod, a GOOD player is arriving.
Finally companies are putting out a2dp players. I'm embarrassed that best buy is so far ahead of the curve on this one (It's a great player though, had it for 6 months now). Not having a cord is so incredibly useful for biking and skating.
Faith...Sony...
SPIT TAKE
sony's real first A2DP-enabled PMPs were the walkman phones. although this little guy could be a good contender against other iPod-nano-sized devices....especially the yepp T9b for the battle of the bluetooth.
I hates wires! this would be awesome for when my current ipod dies.
I got a 4GB Zune to replace my Sony Walkman NW-HD5 when I got word that the Sonic Stage store was going to be canceled. but now I wonder If i can get this in place of an 80 GB Zune and still place Microsoft purchased music on it? (and yes I know I'm a sucker for purchasing music)
Also why the hell to none of these players support regular old mpeg video?
Can it play.... nevermind.
sony seriously has a thing about those 320x240 screens and just cannot let them go. they have been using the exact same ones in lots of their devices for the past 4 years or so. come ON get a new screen already. this device here just screams "hey we took a $400 phone and stripped the phone features and added lots of memory!"
36 hour battery life?
using BT or using a wired connection?
i wish there was a way to use these on my mac natively with itunes... i'd be all over them.
Dang it, I purchased the 8gb 818 walkman last December. I mean it's awesome and all, but if I knew the 16gb walkman was coming out so soon I would have waited. Ah well.. Imma get it anyways, lol.
Ugh, Sony won me over with the S610. But my next player needs to be at least 30GB.
Make it 32GB, and I'm yours, Sony.
Well, since they finally dumped Sonic Stage, this may be something worth looking at.
@ION_PREDATOR:
Creative has 32 GB in a similar package. Just don't expect too much in the way of support afterwards.
@nutbastard:
Wired. BT brings it down to 15 hours
@DRVEC
The headphones look like there are the noise cancellation head phone used in older models. That would be very sweet. I love them.
