I don't know about you, but it's so cold out there that I'm going everywhere with my Zissou beanie on. I wouldn't change it for anything, except an Indiana Jones fedora hat or any of these hand-knitted R2-D2 beanies. Perfect for snowboarding padawans (like Brian Lam) or X-Wing sled rides. MUST HAVE! It'll get all the chicks.
HAHAHAHA! that's awesome!
It would work perfectly to keep my ears toasty while on planet Hoth
c'mon JD, I need a finished project, not a DIY guide (I barely know what yarn is to begin with)
show me a checkout/paypal page and I will be on my merry way.
PS- Don't make fun of asians boarding...I was at Mt. Snow a couple weeks ago and it was like an asian invasion up there
shit yeah... this is a must have. And good thing, cause it's still colder than Hoth here in Utah.
The male hat model has a certain je ne sais quoi does he not.
@scarbrtj: Dude, he's in an R2-D2 beanie, he's a freakin' pimp.
Once again, I'm left wishing I could knit.
@chillywilly: Oh c'mon, it was like, 40 degrees here in SLC the other day...that's fucking balmy considering how this winter has gone. If it drops back into the 20's with several feet of snow I'm hunkering down in a Tonton though.
Oh and that's a pretty dope beanie I guess, if you're into that sort of thing.
@scarbrtj: @tehronin: That's not a guy...
For those that would get it, from Excessively Diverted, "for my R2D2 toque (aka the R2D-toque)"
HAHA
@Polybius: lol right on, but im pretty sure 90% of americans dont know what a toque is, even though its a much better name than a beannie
My sister-in-law made me 2 of these for Christmas last year. One in standard colors and another in a white, black, and red motif. Very cool. Or warm. My children enjoy taking them and wearing them as well.
"You can't win, but there are alternatives to knitting."
I just commissioned mine to be made!
man! i still remember when this move came out, as if it was yesterday..... 1970s FTMFW!!!
@vorlik: After 20+ years, coming from Southern California, I've never gotten used to the cold, even at 40 degrees.
The Tonton is always an option.
@chillywilly: our friend Supplemonkey taught us yesterday that it's "tauntaun." (Although the use of "Tonton" could refer to Porkins hah hah.)

You know that this story is a year and a half old, right?
@vorlik: well, since it's snowing again here in SLC this morning i'm thinking this item is becomming more of a necessity by the minute. but at least it's better than the haze.
Holy shit!
fuck what it costs
Im a boss
Tycoon
Dipped in sauce...
@Geisrud:
hey who'd you commission it to? how much $???
Want! Want!
I love star wars as much as the next giz reader, but I just threw up in my mouth a little.
I want one so i can ride my vespa i this great utah weather.. :| oh yea and to keep my ears warm.
I'd just keep the Zissou tuke, and the jumpsuit, and the glock.
I could have used one of these last night during the eclipse!
can they make a jimmy hat next? your girlfriend would be like "what is that?"
and you would be like
"brr prrr brr"
dam that would be a classic
@daversW: Some American I met called a toque a "toboggan". Now, maybe this guy was a little slow, but a toboggan is something you sit on as you slide down a snowy hill.
Either way, "beanie" is just a terrible, terrible name.
got one custom ordered! i made enough changes that it will be completely one of a kind!
R-2! fuck yeah!
@nutbastard: Where did you order one? I need one STAT!
