I don't know about you, but any trailer that starts with the greatest gadget genius of all time having a morning whisky on the rocks, while traveling through the desert in a Humvee to the beat of AC/DC's Back In Black, says to me: BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE EVER. Which is precisely what you can see in the new Iron Man full trailer, along with everything you would expect Robert Downey Jr's perfect Tony Stark to do, from tinkering with his armor while mixing cocktails to playing with a multitouch holographic display to crashing through his amazing mansion on the edge of a cliff (Bruce Wayne is a wimp) to kissing the redheaded goddess that is Gwyneth Paltrow playing Virginia "Pepper" Potts, his personal assistant. Best quotes ever and poll, after the jump.
Tony Stark (to army driver): "Good God, you are a woman."
Tony Stark: "Yeah. I can fly."
Computer: "Sir, the upgrade is complete" (talking about the new armor) Tony Stark: "Tell you what. Put a little hot rod red in there."
Tony Stark (to Virginia Potts, while fitting his armor): "Let's face it, this is not the worst thing you caught me doing."

IGN has the trailer in hi-def, which makes it even more awesome.

Man, seeing the little trailer at the end of the Transformers Dvd got me excited for this movie. After watching this trailer? OMG... I'll see it in theaters..
woot, first to vote!
Hollywood finally realized what the American public wants in a summer movie--badass robots (or robotic exo-skeletons in this case) blowing shit up.
I'd kill to attend a screening of this movie with Greenpeace.
Can't wait for this to come out in theaters, then I can't wait for Downy to blow his revived career on blow and to have it eventually come to an end, blowing away all hopes for a sequel, but I could be wrong.
Here's to hoping I am!
I think I might have to borrow this line now and then:
I have seen the first theatrical trailer three times and it made me feel like a giddy kid again every time. Seeing this new one just gave me the same feeling. I am definitely going to see this one in a theater with a huge screen.
This tops transformers! Transformers was the awesome movie of 07', this one will be 08's!!
Is it just me, or does that guy sound like Tom Hanks.

The care and attention to detail that went into the technical aspects of this movie look more than promising.
I love how they do take a "realistic" approach, just like in Batman Begins, sure it was science-fiction, but when presented this believable it just adds a whole new layer of awesome.
Definite must see.
Looks awesome! Very much going to go see it
May is so far away. Would be cool at an Imax.
P.S. Jesus, most fitting poll ever.
@vagrant: Agreed on both counts.
Also, did the first bit of automated armor-fitting sequence in his lab remind anyone else of the Starcarft II cinematic intro?
+ Watch video
best ever. will see.
*Nervous Breakdown
(Now after all available trailers I kind of have the feeling that I've already seen the whole film... anyone else feel that?)
Holy Crap
Who's the silver guy Iron Man's fighting? War Machine?
I wish this movie didnt keep getting hyped up...im already expecting it to be super awesome...and i cant remember the last time a superhero movie lived up to its hype :(
@defn: I think it's called Iron Monger.
How in the hell was Batman realistic?! GRRR!
I no longer need my morning coffee.
what's the name of the song at 1:17min?
Three fresh hands of awesome-veneer. I love it how this trailer has not even one cringe-inducing frame in it.
This movie will be poo.
oh i mean 1:20 ^^
Great Iron Boner Batman!
well..i never really liked Robert Downey........until now!!!..
When I first heard he would be Tony Stark I thought it was a stupid choice....but judging from the traier...IMHO this guy was the PERFECT choice....judging from the trailer that is.
I hope this movie will be all I expect it to be.
I love the end of the trailer with the tank and then the "Iron Man" fade up.
@sibbe: It's "Cochise" by Audioslave, with Chris Cornell, the old lead from Soundgarden, and a lot of the guys from Rage Against the Machine.

oh hell yes!
That man just blew up a tank and didn't even watch explode! BAMF material. Hopefully this movie will patch the whole in my heart Spiderman 3 left.
@CHU BOI: ....spiderman 3.....ugh.....why...just why?
HOLY CRAP
I usually like to stay aloof for this shit but, YES!!!!!!!
YES!
IRON MAN!!
I'm there and I'm changing my goatee to a Stark.
I voted yes. Finally, someone went and put Black Sabbath in a movie -- and it fits. Not like that Eye of the Tiger crap.
Gotta love the Gizmodo Poll. Best one ever!
The Trailer does its job and then some. It rocks!
Until I saw this trailer on TV last night, I'd never heard of Tony Stark or Iron Man, but WOW I want to see this movie! And not as a DVD rental on my CRT, either.
This looks like it's going to a must see, and I LOVED the Black Sabbath at the end. Went so well.
I knew the second I saw the trailer at Comicon, and the panel discussions, that this movie would be a mega hit. I admit the hype might be a little too fanboyish in character, but I think the film will live up to that hype, if not surpass it.
I love the way they did the "application" of the iron man suit to Stark, with all the industrial robots...can't wait.
Bear in mind the bar for superhero movies is kinda low. Being the 'best superhero movie ever' could still mean it sucks.
The main problem I've finally realized is that these movies waste a good third of the 1st movie on the origin. I wish some movie maker would have the balls to make a superhero movie and not worry about the origin. Just jump in, feet first and go nutz. Good example is how X-men 2 was better than X-man 1.
oh pleeeeeeeease let this be good.
I'd say that finally someone got a superhero movie right....
yes there have been good ones in the past but i think Iron Man will blow everything in the past away.
I almost start giggling every time I see a new Iron Man trailer.
When I first heard they were making an Iron Man movie, I shrugged, but now...I can not remember the last time I wanted to see a movie this badly.
I AM IRON MAN!
@dOk: this movie is probably gonna blow.
comic fans ALWAYS get hyped up then let down. remember "the hulk"? movie ended up sucking so much ass they had to make it again......
@Blue_Six: "realistic"? you think a rich guy that trained with "ninjas" to become a superhero, who at one point has to be saved by his butler, only to have to beat the guy who trained him, is "realistic"? "scarecrow"?
how is "ironman" flying next to jets being propelled by his FEET, "realistic" again? or him even building that supersuit while being held hostage by terrorist? c'mon dude, those movies arent any more "realistic" than the spider-man movies or even the superman and hulk movies. ..
@izim1: You should really move to my reality. It's much more fun here.
Anyone remember playing Syndicate? That suit-up scene looks just like the 'agent upgrade' cinematic.
Lol, WUT? Was I the first vote?! AWESOME.
Based on the trailer, is Iron Man going to be the best hi-tech superhero movie ever?
Yes.

BEST GIZMODO POLL EVER!!!
OH, and even though he's really not the Tony Stark from the comic books, he's a zillion times cooler and makes a hellva lot more sense.
@92BuickLeSabre: lol
Difficult to say. I was looking forward to transformer last year. After watching it, the movie was good, but was a bit disappointing at the end at how it was shot for the whole movie. They have lot of shots that the camera was moving way to fast (to show you speed), bunch of blurs, and I couldn't really see enough detail of the coolness of those robots.
I hope Iron man would do better.
PWN?
Downy Jr's sarcastic attitude and dry humor makes him such a great Tony Stark...the action looks pretty good from the trailers.. hope the movie itself has a lot more...
lol am i the only idiot who voted?? =D)
Seriously cant wait till it hits europe! =D)
Here are the ways I HOPE Iron Man is different from Transformers (the michael bay one):
1. The humor will mostly consist of badass one-liners and alcohol fueled misogynistic jokes instead of robot urination and whiny teenage capers.
2. Continuity. If Iron Man busts out some badass weapon in one scene and then gets stuck in a situation later where it would come in handy, he better damn use it again. This is in contrast to the badass fire-sword (read: Voltron rip-off) Optimus decapitates a dude with and then forgets about for the rest of the movie.
3. Finally, the biggest thing is that Iron man remembers that it's a comic book movie and keep its head out of it's own ass. Cool if I.Man saves the world. But really, so what if he does, that's what he's supposed to do. Stay away from any goopy sentimentality.
PS: Jon Favreau please don't rip off your own movies like Mike Bay did by using the same tired backstory of alien technology fueling the last few decades of technological advances. He used it in Independence Day and Transformers. Lame.
Wow.... this looks great.
*head explodes*
anyone else what that like 7 times already? cant WAIT for may now!!
