So, you're at your desk typing away, but what are your feet doing? If they're wandering about aimlessly, put them to work by investing in a Footime Mouse, which allows you to control your cursor by using feet-based gestures. Retailing at $199, the Footime Mouse could actually provide great functionality for those with physical disabilities, or alternatively, it could help the chronically bored dispose of some free time.
The package contains two units; the first straps onto your right foot and is used as the tracker, whilst the second has two rows of programmable buttons and a scroll wheel. Both of the units connect via USB and the gadget is Windows compatible only. One thing is for sure—you wouldn't want to take a sniff of the foot mouse after a hard day's web surfing, and what's the point of surfing the web if you can't have a good mouse sniff thereafter? I'm so picking up one of these. Think of the possibilities while raiding in WoW...
Absolute... Stupidity.
(Read the Google translation that Giz links to via PC Watch) ...
...and you´ll laugh so hard that the office you´re in will have you committed ;)
Ten bucks says the guy that invented this needed a more convenient way to navigate through porn.

@rudyism:
I know it was probably not the intention of the inventor ... but there are quite a lot of people who lost their arms, cant use em anymore or have been born without them.
So for them this is ideal
So : Stupid - No, Makes no sense for a healthy person - Yes.
@rudyism: hmmm... gotta get one of those... you know so i have 1 hand free.. to sip coffee while surfing through porn in the middle of the night.
I don't know if I have enough dexterity in my foot, but this sure looks like it could come in handy for a programmer. No more switching back and forth between the mouse and the keyboard.
@rudyism: My thoughts exactly. Hands free.....and really perfect for the foot fetishist.
Not intended to be or resemble or lead anyone else to think of a porn reference.
I see some gaming possibilities. To the ardent gamers out there: are two hands always enough?
@holyOrange:
wouldnt want to burn your tallywhacker in mid...... well ya know.... while..... oh never mind you get the picture
I don't get why this is a bad idea. There is a lot of time that my fingers are positioned on the keyboard and moving from the mouse back and forth is tedious and my feet are doing nothing.
Hardcore gamers I can see using this. Free up your hands to aim guns and junk if you use your feet to move your guy around the maps.
I could have used it last night. Trying to use the mouse while dealing with a fussy baby ain't the easiest.
Respond to the editor is job one.
That was from the linked webpage. Tell my why thats more funny than the actual dang thing...
I hate to say this, but let's say you're feeding a baby. Well, that takes two hands - might as well browse with your feet!
I admit nothing!
@mtopper: I feel so guilty for thinking of this first. I'd probably have to get my feet off the ottoman I currently have under my desk though. (Nothing like sinking into a big old leather armchair and putting your feet up before a good night of gaming.)
I don't have an addiction! I can stop whenever I want!
I had the same thought as Lupison that when I am playing first person shooters, I wish my feet could control character movement while the mouse controls aiming/looking. This would had really been excellent with a game like Mechwarrior.
I just wonder if you can have this and a regular mouse, because as it's also been mentioned, fine control probably sucks.
This could be usefull for musicians with home stuios. It challenging to trigger a computer while holding a guitar. You even be able to change fx or adjust volume while you were playing
i am having some nasty problems with hand, wrist and arm pain. so i have been trying different things to keep my hands off the keys more. i have dragonnaturally speaking installed, i alternate between my regular mouse and a gyro mouse that doesn't have to sit on the desk, and so on.
but i don't see myself taking my shoes on and off all day to play footsie with myself under my desk.
Nice... I don't really have a use for this, but I can see many people who can.
The only downside is that you HAVE to keep your feets down all the time... something I am kinda unable to do.
Ha! I've actually wished for this so that I could knit while browsing the internet. (Stop laughing!) However, at that price tag, I'll keep my two most physically lethargic activities separate.
