These Samsung YP-S2 Pebble MP3 players look quite similar to the Creative Zen Stone (because they both look like small rocks), and hold about 1GB of MP3s and WMAs. They've got about 10 hours of playback, but don't do a whole lot else (other than looking and feeling like rocks). They'll be available in the UK around May, but no release date or pricing yet for the US. [Shiny Shiny]

Would anyone in the US even want one of these? Maybe some hip 20 year old girl, but I can't think of any other target audience for this sort of thing.
They look a little bigger than my Zen Stone, which by the way, I love. These little player are perfect for running or the gym. I'll never understand why people would want to run with a brick strap to their arm. I was going to get a shuffle, but the Zen Stone with armband was $25 less.
@Thomas Palmer:
That is a pretty big, audience, who also spend a lot of money. so why not ...
@baltwade:
So a 1GB zen stone ($33.85) + armband ($??) is $25 cheaper then a 1GB ipod shuffle ($49)?
what's with these?my 4year old samsung was smaller than this!
Theres something about coked out blondes i dont like.
@Zeasar:
it probably was when he bought it.
my e280 was $180 new, about 8 months ago - they can be had for under $80 now, so I also get a lot of strange looks when I tell people I bought it because it was cheaper than a 2GB nano
Not sure on sound quality, or size or cost difference but it looks like these would be great for skipping across a pond. Of course if you had throw away money ipods would skip nicely as well.
Maybe I'm just old.........nah. I guess I really just don't give a shit about having music WHEREVER I go, to warrant having an ipod/small MP3 player.
@smeee:
im guessing it has to do with the drip numbing little smeee before he's finished?
@smeee:
yeah, the voice was grating on me as well... had to reach for the volume before the ol' ear drums began their plasmatic dribbling.
@Out2gtcha:
we're on different ends of the spectrum - im one of those dorks who ALWAYS has headphones sitting on my neck from the time i wake to the time i sleep. it's like my pope hat.
The avalanche has already begun,
it is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Hey, each to their own..........
Yeah I do like music but am not prone to wearing earphones except for gaming/TS/Vent.
"Look at me.......Im the pope, I have a pope hat and stuff!" *DANCES*
@strider_mt2k: Babylon 5 reference FTW! Hats off to you, sir.
@Zeasar: I bought my Zen Stone at Circuit City last year for a little over $30 and the arm band was a little under $20 so my total was $50 and change. Every place I looked, Circuit City, Best Buy, and BJ's (it's like Costco), the iPod shuffle was selling for $75. Maybe I could have gotten a better price ordering online, but I wanted it that day.
@Out2gtcha: I totally agree. The only time I use my MP3 player is when I workout or run. Otherwise it just sits in the old junk drawer.
... also got a zenstone this past summer. size and shape and everything about it is great but i hate how it doesn't play anything other than .mp3 or wma
ooo ya, at the time i bought it too, it was significantly cheaper than the shuffle, plus mine was 2gig ^_^
I love having my tiny little Conwon U2. It's the size of a lighter, tough as nails, amazing battery life and plays almost anything (except AAC). What drives me nuts is how much Ipod specific stuff there is out there. I can plug any apple mp3 player into my car and control it from the dash but can I even get a line in for my stereo noooo, that would be too difficult. WTF?
