Apple just announced World Wide Developers Conference dates as June 9th through June 13th. That means the keynote is likely to be set at June 9, 2008, a Tuesday Monday, and tech journos everywhere can now resume planning their summer vacations around it. What's up with the two bridges? Maybe they're talking about iPhone and Mac Dev...yes, says so on the WWDC site. UPDATE: Keynote likely on Monday, not Tuesday. [WWDC]

2 keynotes. 1 mac, 1 iPhone?
@Slappy McSlapp: Sounds very much like it. Or iBridge. whatever that may be.
2bridges1cup
Maybe Apple is spinning off the consumer electronics division into a separate entity from the computer division? Two roads diverging...?
Double the traffic? (Twice the bandwidth?)
PHOTOSHOP!
This is totally about how Apple is purchasing Microsoft. "Neither Can Live While the Other Survives"
One bridge to Oakland, one bridge to go around Oakland. Apple is just trying to keep us safe that's all :)
iClone
@Symbiotic: that was my first thought, but no way El Jefe lets a major part of the business out from under his thumb.
so...
@Slappy McSlapp: i think is more likely.
They're moving away from touchscreens.
Maybe we'll finally get a real copy and paste.
@SchruteBuck:
Great, Zombie Jesus! I hope not.
definitely two bridges one cup...
They're going to charge you *again* for ipod touch updates. DOUBLE SUICIDE!
Double the Fanboy traffic?
It means apples are red like bridges....sillyz
That's it, I've got it.
The Golden Gate bridge is spreading its legs.
Finally, the Lisa Jobs iRealDoll
Jobs is retiring.
Two opportunities to plunge to your death.
they're actually building a second GG bridge?
That poster really does give the impression that the company is going to split into Mac Co. and iStuff Co. I mean, I don't expect it; it's really unlikely - but the poster ...
@BenjiClayton
HAHAHHAHHAHA!
Sweet, a Golden Gate bridge directly to the strip clubs in north beach. I've got singles for the tolls!
what is 2 times better than a bridge? two bridges? no an slr. apple buys canon.
@IVPPITER: or, apple finally buys Adobe.
They are probably going to spread the touch feature to more products.
A mac tablet or something.
Thats what the two spreading bridges symbolize. The iphone a great product and now using the same technology for more products.
Mabye now they will create a mac tocuh.
I think it means just what it says. A landmark event in more ways than one. I think it's focusing on the multiple versions of OSX.
Apple is getting into construction business. They are going to build that other bridge next.
LANDMARK? They're adding GPS?! Oh my gosh! No wayz.
San Francisco is finally getting SLI support. (Ohhhhhhhh)
Steve Jobs have found a way to A-Sexually Reproduce. One Steve will lead the design team against the other Steve and the development team in battle, thus finally breaking Apple's commitment to either form or function.
Now that I think about it, maybe the design team was victorious prior to January's little event?
In that case, I got nothin
iPhone 2.0, not the firmware, but rather a hardware revision which includes at the very least 3G.
Apple hardware and software will go their separate ways. WIll then reunite after a few years, then spin software off again to Access, push a nice machine with the wrong OS onto the market just to retire it a few days after, which will see the stock dive to 6 USD. Than El Jobso decides, that he thinks he is better off at Pixar and f... computers... déja vu.
Or Apple buys the majority at Disney.

@Anks329: Actually I'm betting on this. They will open up the New firmware/appsOMG along with a new hardware model, perhaps with 3G. Good call Anks, I was hoping for something crazier, but obviously this is what they mean.
double post...
I think everyone has it backwards: The bridges are converging, not diverging. My bet: Tablet style MacBook and iPhone 2.0 that somehow have the sex on each other.
The two bridges represent dual support for Blu Ray and HD-DVD.
As pathetic as my guess appears, it's just as good as your guesses.
Seriously, maybe that DVR patent stuff a couple of posts back. Ya know "two highways of media", from iTunes or cable. Apple seems to be listening to people more and more, they been criticized twice for not having DVR in the Apple TV by prominent tech reviewers. The Apple TV 2.0 WOW was like the Vista WOW for many.
A lot of people I have talked to about it were like, "If you want me to have a box that's main purpose is to rent movies, why don't you give me the box for free"
Just a guess
"Hey, I heard that guy say he's got a bridge to sell you. Well, I've got two."
@Earthslide ... ahh.. the Golden Gate doesn't go to Oakland.. its a bridge that connects SF to Marin.. just saying
How about OSX support for non-Apple hardware? That would be "a landmark event" to finally have a legit OSX on a standard non-Apple PC...
Maybe it's the ability to merge folders in Finder. At long last, OSX is brought into the 1970s.
More Ways than one - two big announcements.
Landmark iMac, completely wireless bar power - slight aesthetic change from current [thinner] but with multi touch screen - this will lead to multi touch Cinema displays.
Second landmark - full SSD based iPod line - or - Something not huge, but great - free .Mac - It's in apple's nature to bone the people that paid for the subscription. - this makes sence, cos they could link it in with google's, exponentially growing storage and online tools.
landmark.
Apple to run native 64 MSoft code..
@big_marky_t:
"full SSD based iPod line"
already exists, dude.
It represents both an hardware update and a price drop for the Macbook Air. Early adopters will have TWO bridges to jump off.
Thanks for the options, Apple. You guys rock.
Well a couple of you don't seem to know where the Golden Gate Bridge actually is, but it would be nice if there were two, the traffic leaving SF is like a 14kb modem.
As for the Apple event, it says what it is on the site.
I guess...: virtual immersion translucent HUD glasses with gesture interaction.
