MacLife.de says Nike's SportBand, an armband that connects to the Nike+ running device, might be finally coming to retail some time in April 2008. The armband will still be wireless and still require you to shove a Nike+ kit into your shoe in order to track how fast/far you run, but you won't have to carry an iPod Nano on you, which lowers the chance of muggings (but raises the chance of being bored while running). Once you're done with your workout, take out the attached USB stick and plug it into your computer to sync data with nike.com. [MacLife]

Sometimes I like to run in a populated area and can't use my nano because I do not like getting hit by cars or pricks riding their bicycles.
This makes sense, but I don't think I would pay more that $50 for something like this.
So if you are wearing something that blocks out noise and you get run over because you aren't paying attention to where you are going, that makes everyone else a prick?
Does it show you any data while you're running?
this thing remotely controls your iPod too
@soulfinger: No, when a schmuck on a bike runs you down from behind because he is messing with his water bottle, that makes him/possibly you a prick. So for me, I would rather hear the turd burglar coming.
I held off every working out and running but now that this is out I can start considering it again.
This is great - although I wish Nike would've come out with a solution for other iPod devices, like the iPod video or shuffle. But I agree with one of the previous posters - I would only consider this if the price is right. I'm pretty into running now, and although it'd be nice to know my pace, distance run so far, etc., it ain't a priority.
