Mr. T's favorite laptop maker rolled out slick, useful and budget-minded updates to its Satellite line today. First up, the 13.3" U400, 14.1" M300, 15.4" A300 and 17" P300 have a new look called "Fusion," a shiny finish with pinstripes and smoothed edges, not unlike that sucka HP's successful smooth-n-shiny-n-pinstripey look. The eight shots in the gallery make the design look a bit greenish, so we'll have to wait to pass final judgment. It's one thing to look nice on the outside, but like T, these have a lot going on on the inside, too...
The laptops will all have "Feather-Touch" multimedia touch-sensitive keys and a webcam with facial-recognition security login, presumably more for fun than true security. They will all also have Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, which will charge stuff even when the laptop is asleep or powered down, provided the laptop is plugged into a wall socket.
At the same time, Toshiba introduced two totally new laptops, the A200, with a starting price of $600 including 15.4" widescreen, DVD SuperMulti drive 160GB drive, 1GB of RAM and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor. The company also introduced the 17" L350 with built-in webcam, ATI Radeon X1250 graphics and DVD SuperMulti drive for $750. [Toshiba releases: Redesigned laptops; Cheap laptops]

What, no pics? I can't see a thing Giz besides the cover shot.
@riqgeez: Don't act like giz isn't perfect..... oh wait I can't see them either.
I suppose pinstripe green is the new pinstripe black?
Comment on Toshiba Satellite Laptops: New Fusion Look, Charge-Anytime USB Ports, Cheaper Prices I have been charging my iPhone and iPod via the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro's USB ports whilst the computer's in sleep mode. This is nothing new.
@riqgeez: You see what they want you to see, stop rocking the boat.
She's a meaty girl isn't she?
Keep up the goo T work.
OHHH!!! SHINY!! GIVE TO ME!!! GIVE TO ME THE SHINE!!!
In the year 2008 AD man discovered a way to charge his USB devices while his computer slept.
And God wept.
My iPod's Li-ion battery pack can charge on my Macbook in sleep mode, but it'll wake up if anything that sends a signal is plugged in. Being able to charge the iPod itself or other data-collecting/sending doodads would be great to have.
Will this come with a "Fresh Start" type install option. I haven't had to work with Toshiba's for a while but I remember there being quite a bit of lipo that had to go on for all the bloat.
Yo, if it's good enuff fer T, it's good enuff fer me----------foooool.
I think they only posted that pic due to not being able to superimpose any pictures of Mr.T over actual T's....
I suppose the keyboard could also get one though LOL
@dwight-schrute: I think that still holds true, I recently bought a Toshiba as a gift for someone, and it had more crapware on it than any other PC i've ever bought.
I've had pretty good luck with Toshiba laptops in the past.
First impression: Sweet form factor, suckaceous color.
Uh, my ThinkPad T61 can do "sleep and charge" - the USB ports are active when the device is off or sleeping if it's plugged in. You can turn on or off the setting using the BIOS.
My old Compal EFL30 did this, too - it even did it on battery when the laptop was sleeping.
