About a year after its beta launch, Adobe Media Player is in full effect, or almost. Adobe's little Flash-only scheme for making money on the internet has lined up CBS and Viacom properties MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, plus PBS, Universal Music Group and a few others, though not all of them show up yet in the list of stuff to watch. (That tantalizing Daily Show you see in the promo pic—not available yet.) Remember, unlike other similar programs, this one lets you watch online or off. But like all the rest, it's only as good as the content it brings to the table. And its interface. And the picture quality. Any beta testers out there want to comment? We'd love to hear your impressions. [Adobe (download) via CNet]

does it work in europe?
never mind...
It works in Europe. But the picture quality is not so good
its ok if you want to pass a few mins browsing around, haven't had a good chance yet to check out the content.
The player design looks a bit flat, but its easy enough to use.
other than that. I'll need to spend more time messing around with it :)
It worksaround my company's streaming media' ban, so that's nice.
@little_princ: the quality depends on who uploaded the video. The Twilight Zone episodes look good.
I would download this, but after the shit Adobe pulled with Vista and that security shit I'm not downloading much of anything from them.
Oh wow. If this is Adobe's attempt at competing with Silverlight, they are in for a world of hurt. The Flash video codec is too inflexible. this is little more than a fancy Flash video player - and probably the bed for YouTube's new HD offering.
Doesn't Flash 9 beta play h.264 streams? That's not inflexible is it?
