If, for some reason, you were interested in picking up one of Sharp-Willcom's new D4 WS016SH UMPCs, the device will be available in the States starting on June 20th from GeekStuff4U. Personally, I would not be thrilled about dropping $1,526.33 on a device running Vista huffing and puffing with only a 1.33Ghz processor and 1GB or RAM—but to each his own. [GeekStuff4U via BGR]

slap a phone in that bitch and consider it sold
pass
Does that even meet the minimum specs? I bet this thing has trouble just opening my computer.
MacBook Air for only $200 more? Yes please.
Or an EeePC running XP for 1/3rd the price? That's cool too.
The Atom CPU is incredibly power efficient. Hopefully this would get good battery life.
wow.
where are our promised sub-$500 UMPCs with touchscreens?
I'll keep my Cloudbook (with XP) thank you.
Save $300 and get it from www.Conics.net. They have been around much longer anyway.
@rezin khanz: There's already a phone in there. It's just not one that's compatible with American networks (but if you know where you can buy a portable base station to use it with your home phone line).
...my desktop has 1 GB of RAM. Don't hate. :(
Call of Duty 1 runs blisteringly fast, if I don't run any background apps.
Then, of course, there's that friend of mine who plays CoD 2 on his phone because he overclocked it, but...yeah. Those specs don't really sound too bad.
Mac airbook, EEEpc, cloudbook, come on those are not small enough to carry in a pocket. While yes this is expensive, it is the only one small enough with a nice keyboard design you can carry everywhere.
I think this is a very cool UMPC and hope more like this are created. I would buy one but would rather have one made for a US cell phone company to get all the benefits that the D4 does in Japan.
