Haven't you always wanted your Armani shades to have an inbuilt TV display, of 21-inch effective size at 1-meter distance? Well, thank the heavens for the i-Bean, as it will grab onto any of your shades with sucker mounts and do exactly that. Sure, it may weigh you down an extra 10g, and will set you back $385, but think about the geek chic factor. The i-Bean comes equipped with a TV tuner that can operate with either 3 AAA batteries or via AC power, so you can now have Desperate Housewives on the bus, which is no way as cool as it sounds. nice, I would definitely find something like this more useful if it were to be adapted to more of a PC use, working on one monitor, while able to watch another on the lens, Whether it be tv,downloads, chat, thumbnail view of graphics work I can see myself using it for that application.
I want one. Nah, I want two, one for each eye!
That would be neat for security guards or anyone monitoring a group of screens.
Any alarmed cameras could be sent directly to the glasses where they would get immediate attention.
@myotheralt: I want one two for each eye...also.
I want one.
For showing off, of course.
there ar ea lot of these rediculous looking things on the market but this one isnt half bad. this is better because it has a built in tv tuner. I would get one.........
I'll get one when they integrate that monitor INTO the sunglass lens. Maybe using the OLED technology href="http:/
+ Watch video
(Sorry, I don't know how to embed the video)
@SgtMac02: Oh, apparently I did embed the video and didn't realize it. Yay me.
Now build a wii-like controller into it so I can do turns in first-person games by turning my head... hmmm, probably need a gyroscope.
Hmm. For some reason, I think this would cause incredible amounts of eyestrain...
Is this going to replace the bluetooth headset that self important people walk around all day wearing now?
Oooh, Maybe they could wear BOTH now and be SUPER COOL.
Yes, hook it up to some sort of portable computer (laptop/umpc) and utilize one of Gyration's mouse/remotes and you're all set! =-D
FYI, Gyration Remotes here: [www.gyration.com]
I have these at home for my media center pc and they are truly awesome!
make it wireless and you've got some james Bond Gear !
"Haven't you always wanted your Armani shades to have an inbuilt TV display" I think having this thing attached to you designer glasses would totally negate any cool style points you were trying to score. On the other hand it is a neat device and I will have to agree with the others on this post that I would like one for each eye as well. Although, I imagine that these can't be good for your eyes in the long run.
that's a lot of funny stuff in one short little tech article
