This little box from JWD does pack in a fair number of functions: 2-inch 220 x 176 TFT screen, built-in lithium battery, speakers, 1GB of memory, MP3, WMA and MP4 playback, FM radio and alarm clock. It can even record the radio or a line-in audio source, and has an SD slot for expansion. It doesn't have a touchscreen or Wi-Fi, but this Chumbyesque device is at least fairly reasonably priced: $88 for one, with discounts if you buy in bulk. [Shopkami via Chipchick]

Where is the iPod dock?
What's going on here Gizmodo, this is hardly newsworthy.
i don't see how this compares to a chumby. the chumby is wifi and IP enabled and thus it gets live content off of the intertubes. this thing doesn't.
Not giving up my Chumby just yet.
I was really on the fence about Chumby but didn't go for it.
There is no such problem here.
No go.
It's kinda cool...but I still don't see any real practical application for it. I think I'll keep my $88.
Good. I could transfer all mom's music collection to SDs, she would use it as a jukebox and clock without the wear and tear of CD/MP3CD.
In fact, it could server the same function for me.
I don't dig the Chumby's form factor. Give it to me in a flat Archos-sized device and I'd go for it.
I can't even work my regular alarm clock in the morning. How the hell am I supposed to deal with that thing?
