Modder Ben Heckendorn is more than a little obsessed with playing games one-handed (giggle, chuckle, milk through the nose, etc.) and his latest creation takes aim at Guitar Hero. It's a pedal that plugs into a modded guitar and replaces the controller's strum and whammy bars, requiring hand use only for the chords.
While stomping your way around DragonForce's Through the Fire and Flames doesn't sound anatomically correct, the pedal actually allows you to, for lack of a better term, foot-double-strum (both the up and down motions count as a string pluck).
To activate the whammy, the user lifts up on their heel to release the spring-loaded rear of the pedal. Yeah, it sounds a bit confusing, but Heckendorn makes it look pretty normal in this example video. Well, as normal as geeking out to Guitar Hero will ever look, at least. [Ben Heck]

That would be awesome for a pirate, but you would still look like a dog scratching itself when you play DragonForce.

The reason Ben Heck makes one-handed controllers and whatnot has generally been for soldiers returning without (or without the use of) an arm or hand. Giggle all you want, but the guy's just trying to help out folks who otherwise wouldn't get to play what the rest of us take for granted...

@Fall-Apart: It's true, I have a good friend whose brother is a paraplegic, and video games are among one of the things he still enjoys despite his disability. This context certainly drives home the seriousness and valor of Ben's designs.
Why would anyone want to play or listen to anything by Dragonforce? They are officially the lamest band of all time, past, present and future. It is official, after all.

Understandable. Guitar Hero is SUCH a turn on, I have trouble playing with both hands.
