boring topic, nice writeup. You didn't, perchance, have some doings in the writing of an unwieldy book called the bible a couple of bazillion years ago?

But I think you have to be kept from writing about those meh topics, because afterwards I'm always thinking 'so, why exactly did I read this?' and it all boils down to that it was a fun read, ok, but nothing really to take home;-)
I hope you take that as a compliment. And your big bosses and colleagues take that as an incentive to pass some more interesting stuff on to you.
