Verizon's not taking the 4G wars lying down. Today at CTIA, they announced that they'd be launching 25-30 LTE 4G networks this year, covering a third of Americans by the end of 2010, and twice that within fifteen months.

Most aggressively, Verizon's also claiming that their 4G coverage will be greater than their current 3G map. Yowza. It's an ambitious schedule that they've set for themselves, but they really don't have much choice after T-Mobile laid down the law yesterday about their HSPA+ ambitions. Even if Verizon does put LTE in place in as many networks as they say, they'll still be behind. But if their fifteen-month plan holds up, they could be back up there with the rest of the pack.
