Apple and Google Tag-Teaming Paul Allen Over Patent Attack

You might recall Paul Allen's August bombardment of seemingly every tech company in the US over some rather tenuous patent accusations. Google and Apple? Not havin' that. The two are teaming to have the case dismissed with a legal counterattack.

Apple and Google, along with other members of the accused, filed back to back motions last week to dismiss Allen's charges—which were for alleged patents, we ought to remind you, as basic as "Alerting Users to Items of Current Interest." Google says Allen is "not entitled to waste Court and party resources with a scattershot Complaint against multiple Defendants that fails to give any indication as to which products or services [Allen] contends are infringing and the factual basis for such a claim." Scattershot complaint! Factual basis! Boom! [Computerworld]
