In Shenzhen's electronics markets, an entire building is dedicated to Apple products. You can buy white iPhones—at least the backs—by the case. But why pick drab old white when you can get something even snazzier?
That little pink number almost came home with me. Slip a nail under the left edge and you can lift out a telescoping antenna, perfect for picking up television broadcasts on its Windows CE-based television app. (At least I think it was CE. It was heavily skinned.)
Unfortunately they wanted almost $80 for it and I didn't feel like haggling, so I walked past the booths full of knock-off Apple accessories, seemingly legitimate parts like power supplies and USB cables, and walls covered in mosaics of thousands of cases and kept my yuan for finer things.
