A Microsoft VP's Side Project: Selling Money-Scented PerfumeS

Apparently Patrick McCarthy, a vice president of sales at Microsoft, has an odd side project: Convincing people that buying his money-scented perfumes and colognes will make them feel more confident.

McCarthy claims that he had the brilliant idea for this venture when he "went to his ATM and noticed how much he enjoyed the scent of fresh, crisp bills." He immediately trademarked the word "money" in relation to fragrances and sought out Larry "The Nose" Murrison, a man known for creating new scents. Together they created His Money Cologne and Her Money Eau de Parfum:

His Money
Packed in real shredded US dollar bills, His Money opens with the woody aroma of newly printed money. A bold fusion of fresh ocean breezes and bright citrus notes are joined by rosemary, grass, and precious woods. Apply to your skin to create your own personal scent of success. Masculine. Daring. Unforgettable.

Her Money
Packed in real shredded US dollar bills, Her Money begins with the clean scent of freshly minted bills. Vibrant pink grapefruit and mandarin pick up the theme, joined by freesia, passion fruit, Hawaiian wedding flower, and a soft hint of melon. Apply to your skin to create your own personal scent of success. Bold. Soft. Unforgettable.

You can order a bottle of either fragrance for $35—an amazing deal if you consider that each bottle is packaged with about $500 in shredded currency. [Liquid Money via AOL News]
