Ex-Girlfriend Gets Revenge by Turning Boyfriend Into a Meme

It's a story as old as time. Boy meets girl. Boy and girl break up. Girl gets revenge by turning boy into a humiliating meme. This appears to be what happened to poor Jack Weppler.

So, this story has been shooting around the blogosphere: A kid named Jack Weppler broke up with his girlfriend and she promptly spammed his Google image results with a flood of embarrassing Lolcat-style images created with Memegenerator.net.

His mom wrote into Google's help forum, begging for them to remove the offending images:

My minor son's ex-girlfriend took a copyrighted picture of him (we own copyright) and uploaded it more than 60 times to a website. On each image she wrote slanderous, defamatory and pornographic captions. The webmaster of the site states he removed the images 6 weeks ago, but Google Search still shows all the images. My son is so stressed out and embarrassed and we've done everything we can to get images off of Google.

But the power of Google cache is strong; Jack's image results still look like this.

We feel for you, Jack. You should consult our guide on What to Do If You Become a Meme. Here's a quickie rundown of your options:

  • 1. Hide.
  • 2. Profit.
  • 3. Sue your meme into submission.
  • 4. Shrug, laugh and move on.

And to this we would add a fifth option: Email us with your side of the story.
