You Can Now Whore Yourself Out by Tagging Products and Corporate Pages on Facebook

Holding a can of Coke in one of your photos? You can now tag Coke's official page, so they can see you drinking it. Had a late-night stumble with a C-list actress, and snapped it? Tag her official page.

I can't imagine using this new feature seriously. Maybe I'd consider tagging something for humor-value (like if I had a photo of me cooking dinner, I might tag a carrot as Carrot Top), but if you do seriously tag a can of Coke with their official page, it would just scream of dirtiness to me.

Social media management site Tempero has looked at it from the other perspective, and is worried about the nightmare brands will have in policing photos they've been tagged in. Using an example of "underage users who have joined a drinks' brand page lying about their age but are clearly underage in photos drinking [the] product," they fear of a future where undesirable photo-tags clog brands' official pages.

I imagine some readers are probably imagining the possibilities right now, but I for one am a little hesitant about all this. Unless there's free shit up for grabs. I'll happily tag a can of Coke if it gets me a free crate. [All Facebook via Tempero]
