In this week's app roundup: weather, beautified; pandas, nanosized; Portal 2, documented; documentaries, streamed; outdoor activities, easily found; Delivery.com, appified; Friday, not Rebecca Blacked; phones, found by clapping and much, much more.
Shine: It's a weather app that doesn't suck and is really pretty. Seriously! Shine is a beaut, when you bring it up, it gives the current weather in clear text with an enjoyable cartoon graphic. The bottom displays the forecast (which is side swipeable to see the rest of the 7 days) with high/low temperatures, precipitation and again, enjoyable cartoon graphic. It keeps things simple and to the point. Not for weather nerds, though. $1.
Tweetcomb: Tweetcomb is a twitter app that's made for Honeycomb tablets. Hell, the look and feel of the app fits right in. It uses a column layout to add more versatility, has background updates, notifications and all that other good stuff you use Twitter for. Well worth a try since it's now free.
SnagFilm: It's a streaming video app that specializes in documentaries. Which sounds incredibly boring! But when you're given a platter of docs, you start realizing how much cool shit there is to learn about. And sure you might get your doc fill from Netflix or basic cable but SnagFilm is completely free (sponsored by the rich suits at Goldman Sachs) and comes with a pretty good selection. Free
