Apple's OS X App Store is dandy—neatly organized, with a fairly large library. But it's been without competition until now. Amazon, purveyor of fine books, music, and deodorant, is now jumping into the app download game. Store wars!
Amazon's version has some big names for sale—Microsoft Office, notably, and games from Aspyr and EA. Anything you buy can be downloaded an unlimited number of times "for personal use"—we're not sure how Amazon will stop less than legitimate uses of this feature, but hey—not our problem! Unfortunately, the Mac Download Store is terribly organized. A jumble of graphics, links, prices, and percentages. Y'know, like everything else on Amazon. [Amazon]
