Light Painting With an R/C Helicopter

You can't go wrong when you mix long exposure photography with a moving object. It's even better when you have control over that moving object and use it to do some light painting.

Artist/coder Robert Hodgin showed off his light painting skills when he grabbed an R/C helicopter and used long exposure photography to capture the copter in mid-flight. His final image traces the erratic pattern of him trying to avoid crashing the helicopter into his coffee table.

I've flown those small helicopters inside and I am impressed with his novice piloting skills. He kept the copter in mid-air long enough to catch a nice trace and I especially love how he skittered across the floor behind the table. [Flickr via Make]
