According to FierceWireless, Verizon has confirmed that they'll be getting rid of their unlimited data plans in favor of tiered pricing plans. Starting July 7th it'll be $10 for 75MB, $30 for 2GB, $50 for 5GB, and $80 for 10GB.

Overage charges will cost users $10 per GB. Also, according to Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney, Verizon will begin charging customers for using LTE mobile hotspot (like in the ThunderBolt or Droid Charge). It's 30 bucks for unlimited LTE mobile hotspot or $20 for 2GB.

Remember, these changes in pricing plans only affect NEW customers. You folks already on Big Red are grandfathered in (even when you upgrade your phone). [FierceWireless, DroidLife]
