Bang & Olufsen Joins the AirPlay Party With the BeoLit 12 Wireless SpeakerS

Inspired by their transistor radios of old, the BeoLit12 wireless speaker packs the latest technology, including a 120 watt amp and Apple's AirPlay standard, into a compact, portable box.

The BeoLit 12 airplay speaker is the first product in their newly-announced B&O Play line of products, intended to bring their premium audio and video products to the masses at a price that doesn't require a second mortgage (you might still need a small loan, however). With an aluminum shell, two 2-inch tweeters and a 4-inch woofer, the BeoLit 12 can connect to AirPlay via wi-fi or internet, and also has USB and 3.5 stereo out jacks for versatility.

Also new for 2012 are Bang and Olufsen's BeoVision 12 and BeoLab 12 television and loudspeaker. The BeoVision 12 is a 65-inch, 3D capable plasma that's just a shade over two inches in thickness, . The BeoLab 12 is the company's first iteration that's wall mountable, has a 3/4-inch tweeter, a 2-inch mid, and two 6.5-inch woofers. When paired together, one's living room would look like it was straight out of 2112.

The battery can provide up to four hours of playback when streaming, or eight hours when a music player is directly connected. The BeoLit 12 will be in stores at the end of January starting at $800. The BeoVision 12 will be available in march for $11,350, while a pair of the BeoLab 12 speakers will be available in the Spring for $4800. [Bang and Olufsen]
