The First Super Wi-Fi Network Is ALIVES

Remember Super Wi-Fi? The wonderful, wonderful technology that beams internet though the white spaces between TV network transmissions? Well the first real, public network is now active...in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Now I'm sure Wilmington is a fine, fine place, but my jealousy is getting the better of me here. What I wouldn't give to have consistent, speedy Wi-Fi all over NYC, instead of 3G that sometimes works. Instead, because New Hanover County, where Wilmington falls within, was the first to transition over from analog to digital TV broadcasts, it was able to beat everyone to the punch in getting their Super Wi-Fi network up. Ugh. [NetworkWorld via Slashdot]
