Jon Rubinstein, the former Apple exec, godfather of webOS and ex-CEO of Palm, has left HP, reports AllThingsD. The move isn't too surprising as the writing has been on the wall since he left HP's Palm unit last summer to move to a lesser role at HP's Personal Systems Group.
According to AllThingsD, Rubinstein is leaving HP because he had "completed a 12-24 month commitment to stay with HP" after HP acquired Palm. Also, Rubinstein hasn't been seen in the HP offices since HP decided to stop making webOS hardware. Before joining Palm, he had been a key player in developing the iPod. [AllThingsD]
