It's really hard to beat going to a baseball game on a summer afternoon. But if you can't be at the park, the MLB At Bat app is one of the best ways to follow any sport from a mobile device, and the 2012 version just hit all the app stores.
You can watch live games on the At Bat app if you have a subscription through MLB.tv, and you can follow the games with detailed stats and box scores if you don't. The app is available for iOS and Android, and is optimized for phones and tablets, including the Amazon Kindle Fire. The Windows Phone version isn't out just yet, but MLB's page promises it will be by Opening Day. [MLB]
