Google Glasses Could Automatically Disable Themselves if a Thief Rips Them From Your Head

There are still a million and one questions to be answered about Google Glasses, but the latest patent awarded to Google sheds a bit of light something nobody considered: what happens if your Google Glasses are stolen?

As Wired points out, the patent in question describes a system that can detect when the glasses are ripped from the wearer's head in an unnatural manner, and will lock themselves as a result so that a thief is unable to access any of your info. The patent goes on to say that automatically sounding an alarm or calling the police would also be possible in such an event, although the latter sounds like an idea that would inevitably backfire in a major way.
