CupChair App Lets You Take 360 Degree Pictures With Just an iPhone and a Cup

If you're trying to sell something online, panoramic project images are a great way to make customers feel like they know what they're buying. Actually making the things can be kind of a pain, but the CupChair app by RotaryView streamlines the process.

It's a pretty simple process: you just place your iPhone in a cup (which in this case is just a stand) and point it at the thing you want a 360 degree shot of. From there, the app does a lot of the work itself, like making sure nothing in the background is moving. It even takes the pictures itself, all you have to do is slowly turn the product and move your hand out of the way.

Perhaps the biggest benefit however, is that after that's done, the app will automatically generate the 360 image, processing the shots itself, and then provide an embed code. There's pretty much no way to screw it up. Perplexingly, the embed code doesn't yet work with Esty. The app, and the associated service of cloud-storage and processing, is going to cost you a little, however; it's $9 a month or $99 a year. Still, if you've got quite the operation set up and you're constantly putting items on eBay, or something, it might come in handy. After all, the less you have to do, the better.
