iPhone 5 users have been waiting a long, long time for a jailbreak. Sure, the current versions of iOS have been opened, but unlucky kids with A6 chips and the fancy new Apple devices they come in have been out of luck. But no longer! Probably.
With today's release of iOS 6.1, jailbreak release rumors have been swirling, and it looks like we can expect to see a 6.1 jailbreak that works for one and all this Sunday. MuscleNerd, a mouth-piece for the Evad3rs jailbreak team has been talking up a storm on Twitter, dropping details on the upcoming untethered jailbreak and its release date.
@unicornhacker yes, every other 6.1 device variation will be supported. All TWENTY-TWO of them (omg!). Plus atv2 if it's out in time.— MuscleNerd (@MuscleNerd) January 28, 2013
So there you have it folks. No matter your device (except the Apple TV 3), you should be getting a special Superbowl Sunday gift: a working untethered iOS 6.1 jailbreak. That's a game where everyone wins.
