Speaking to AP, Heins explained that the new keyboard-equipped phone will end up shipping in the US eight to ten weeks after its touchscreen sibling, the Z10. Currently, the Z10 is due to land some time in March, which means the Q10 might not arrive until late May, or even June. Heins explained:
"Am I a bit disappointed [by the delay]... Yeah, I would be lying saying no. But it is what it is, and we're working with all our carrier partners to speed it up as much as we can."
It's a real blow for BlackBerry. As we've explained before, the Q10 could fill a niche that helps the company escape its downwards spiral—but long delays could damage that advantage before Heins and co even have chance to seize it. [AP via All Things D]
