You know what smells awesome? Hot, sweaty leather—like the ass crack of Jim Morrison's pants. And now you can enjoy the pungent aroma every time you sit in this Frankensteined armchair and pull a 10k on its integrated erg.
Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits spent more than three years developing the the GEWOS (Gesund Wohnen Mit Stil or Healthy Living with Style) armchair as a means of exercising the elderly. It measures the user's hear rate, blood-oxygen level, and weight with an array of embedded sensors. It also monitors and enforces proper posture throughout the stroke. This data can then be exported to a monitoring device to create a personalized exercise regimen.
