YouTube iOS App Now Beams Video to Your TV

YouTube's iOS app has been updated with the "send to TV" feature that lets you beam videos wirelessly to your television from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Here's how it works: Make sure your TV and your iOS device are on the same Wi-Fi network, then tap the TV icon at the top of your screen to sling the video. From there, you can control playback or pick something different to watch and everyone with an iOS device on the network can join in to create playlists, too. See how it works here. But more importantly, you can pair with your PS3 or Xbox though, you need to do so manually.

The feature is compatible with LG, Panasonic, Sony, and Bang & Olufsen sets now, but it will come to Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Vizio, and Western Digital TVs later this year. While navigating media on a console pretty much sucks, using your phone is fun and is kind of like Microsoft's Smartglass app. Watching music videos is going to be so much easier. [App Store]
